[ 001 ] is the debut creation from the Beta ‘objects’ series. The design philosophy behind the series centres around a playful approach to form and usability with an inherent focus on function. To enhance both the visual appeal and comfort of the lounge chair, the cushions are upholstered in Holland & Sherry Chamonix fabric. Taking inspiration from Beta’s strong affinity for automotive design, a specialist racing roll-cage manufacturer was enlisted to construct the tubular frame that encompasses the tactile lounge cushions.

“Multiple full-scale foamboard prototypes were created to test proportions and ergonomic angles, while aluminium tubing and 3D prints were used to visualise the frame's curvature, ensuring we could conclude on optimal proportions, ergonomics, and structural integrity for the end product.” 🪑
